Bendigo rockers Four Lions are embarking on a string of Victorian dates before the release of Black And White, the first single from their forthcoming album Wide Awake.
And in a first for an Australian band, Black And White has been mixed by a renowned American producer who has worked with some of the biggest names in music of the past decade.
Black And White showcases Four Lions’ trademark classic rock combined with textbook pop structures, featuring cascades of chiming keyboards that play off against tasteful guitar riffs, offset by powerhouse vocals.
Frontman Shann Lions says he wrote Black And White, along with two other songs, in the space on a single Saturday afternoon spent at home on his couch.
“It’s a depressing love song about hope and always finding a positive within a negative,” Lions says.
Black And White is out on Thursday, April 29.
